Almost every Mother’s Day since I was 6 I have sung my mother the same song each year. At first, it was part of church programs and as I got older over the phone from a long distance. There have been a few years I’ve missed because I was sick, or in one case on my Honeymoon, or I just hadn’t realized it needed to be a tradition. Some years I have gathered my children around to sing to her over the phone. I look forward to this each year.
