Today I am not writing. I am at the largest genealogical conference in the world. One of my hobbies is learning about my ancestors and helping others find theirs. One of the best parts is finding historical nuggets. The girl who is listed on a census as “doing what she pleases,” or that a house was worth $500, or sad things like five family member dying in two weeks. Some of these have made it into a book. I find my historical names using genealogical research techniques.
What is your favorite piece of family lore?
